Rated 3 out of 5 by from was able to do this myself and i am not mechanically inclined. was not so simple to reinstall. Was confused as i thought the wiring was plug in and not having to attach wiring together. I was not sure if i had to get the exact same one that we had broken or of we could have upgraded. Chose the exact same one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Well I purchased this after the other one died after 6 years. Still fits and all the plumbing connections line up with the BADGER 5 replaced. A little noisy but I didn't want to spend the estra $$ for a more quiet one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement for original Badger 500 The original was installed when home was built in 2004, it lasted for 14 years. Hopefully this new Badger 500 last as long as the first one. I really do no know about installation, I had my plumber install for me and it also seems to be the same as 14 years ago so no innovations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hope this replacement serves 25 years like the original!! I built my house in 1993, and the Badger Insinkerator finally started leaking after 25 years of dependable service. The new one slipped right in, in less than 1/2 hour. I spent more time than that trying to fix the drainpipe when the leak started, and should have bought a new one at first.

My less than year old Badger makes a humming sound when trying to use it. Even after that reset red button was pressed.

Asked by: Maryland
Sounds like something is stuck in there to make it humm.
