Is this comparable to a reverse osmosis system? Can this be used with the HWT F1000S?

If not, do you have a reverse osmosis system to be used with the HWT F1000S?
Asked by: Rosemary
Hi Rosemary, This is Jim with InSinkErator. Our filtration system is comparible to many single filter filtration systems today. We offer two replace filters for the system the F1000 and the F2000. The F1000 filter reduces particulates, chlorine taste and odor, for clean-tasting water. The F2000 filter Reduces particulates, chlorine taste and odor plus cysts, lead, mercury, asbestos, benzene, atrazine, 2, 4-D, Lindane, Carbo furan and p-Dichlorobenzene, for clean-tasting water. A reverse osmosis system is a multi-filter system that delivers extremely purified water. As for using a reverse osmosis system with our dispensers, at present time, there are no national standards regarding such compatibility. In the absence of a nationally recognized standard, InSinkErator can make no claim regarding our products’ compatibility with other filtration systems and we can neither discourage nor recommend the use of such systems in conjunction with our Instant Hot water dispenser. However, we can share some information with you. The water that exits the reverse osmosis system is so pure, (the process has stripped it of all minerals and other impurities) that when it touches metal such as our copper tubing, or brass constructed faucets, the tendency is for the water to get some minerals off the tubes making it once again impure. The purification process could also shorten the life span of our dispenser and may affect the psi of the water. If you are going to install the unit with a RO system, you must have a minimum of 30psi for it to work. I hope I have been able to answer your question. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact our AnswerLine at 800-558-5700. Thank you.

How will the 1000 & 2000 filters affect the flow rate of my dispenser?

Asked by: Whitco501
Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. Both F1000 and F2000 have flow rate of .75 gpm. You might notice a decrease in the flow of water if it is already time for you to replace the filter cartridge. We suggest that you replace the filter cartridge every 6 months at the rated capacity or if a noticeable reduction in flow rate occurs. If you have questions, you may contact us through [email protected] or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

Can this filer be used in-line with a sink faucet?

I read that the F-601 can be used with a faucet rather than dispenser. I prefer this model if this would work as well? This if for an RV and do not have the ability to add a dispenser.
Asked by: BP33602
Hi BP33602, This is Belle from InSinkErator Customer Service. For best results, we recommend you use InSinkErator parts and accessories with InSinkErator units. While you may find parts or units that are compatible and wouldn't expect an issue, you should be aware any non-recommended modifications to your unit may void the warranty. I hope this helps. If you have further questions you may contact the AnswerLine at 1-800-558-5700.

Can you explain how fine the filtering is? Is it above or below 1.5 microns?
Asked by: wendyconway
