Rated 5 out of 5 by from I think this is more attractive and easier to use than my last model. This model has a small push button vs a large knob that you turn. This new version would be easier to use if you had arthritis. It's also more attractive with its slim line features. I had a plumber order and installI it. He was in and out in less than 30 minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy and Efficient This was a replacement installation from a smaller unit. It was easy to install and is less noisy than the old one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nicley Designed Product This is a great instant hot for your kitchen. My only suggestion would be to make the push button control adjustable for either right or left side of the unit. That way it can be mounted on either side of the sink with the control button on the preferred side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so far happy with it Overall I'm happy with this instant hot water dispenser. It is a little noisy when heating and I wish you could better regulate the speed of flow out as it sprays out more as you are further from the faucet. I have to hold the mug right under it to avoid burning my hand. My plumber said he hates putting them in because the copper tubing is finicky but he did a great job. I am curious to see how long it works well for us. Hopefully a long time!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works as advertised but need a plumber to install properly. Thi product for all intent and purposes performed as advertised. However, it cost me $125 to have a plumber installed the product but less then 1 1/2 year later the product stop making hot water. Customer service was empathic with my situation. But since it was out of warranty (1 year warranty) she provided only a 35 per cent discount for my next purchase. Hopefully my next hot water tap will last longer

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disapointed I should have done more research before buying this product. The product is small. Smaller than the one it replaced. Also the "nozzle" doesn't rotate, so the water is delivered in a fixed spot. The water coming out of the nozzle sprays, it isn't a steady stream. If I had it to do over again I would buy a larger and better suited to our needs product. I still get hot water out of this unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from BUTTON sticks in on position after two weeks of use! Button was lubricated by service tech, still sticks in on position. Push button is Bad design. Company agreed to replace with the same unit. I requested a comparable unit dispenser with a handle as I no longer trust the button design. (After belatedly reading reviews seems this stuck button is a common issue). The company sent a tech out to check and lubricate the button but still sticks. Company agreed to send a unit with a handle but they will not cover the cost of installation. This is not good customer service! I paid for the unit and I paid a liscensed plumber for the installation. I should not have to pay!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought kit for the tank only I have had an InSinkErator Hot Water system for almost 9 years. The tank started to leak and I disassembled it thinking it might have a burnt line like many reviews stated. However, the tank was leaking and the line was OK. I decided to replace the tank after I took it apart and saw a lot of scale inside of it. When pricing a new tank, I found this entire kit for $100 less than the tank alone. So I've stored the faucet for a backup, and the tank was an exact replacement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Push Button The push button does not always pop back up after pressing down to dispense hot water. A simple click on and off rather than constant pressure might be better. Next time I will get the lever controller.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I had the first model, and enjoyed the little gem! Lasted three years...not superior, but good! Not the longest lasting product, but easy to install, and works just fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The dispensing push button valve has failed to shut off after only about a month. We purchased a InSinkErator Hot 100 about a month ago.... The dispensing push button valve is failing to shut-off already. This is causing the unit to constantly drip. When asking for a replacement, under warranty, we were told that we could not get the unit with an actual handle for the Hot Water even if we were to pay the difference in price. Also, we were told that the waranty only covers one replacement. It sure seems as if the push button dispensing valve assembly is defective. Why should we be punished for a defective part manufacturing issue? A concerned customer.....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The Insinkerator Invite Model100 Instant Hot Water Dispenser The other day my unit failed to shut off, dispensing a continuous stream of hot water. I shut the unit off both from the water supply and from the electrical plug, as visiting company at our house made it inconvenient to look into the problem. Today I managed to physically raise the stuck button on the dispenser and opened up the water supply valve, however after several attempts to exercise the stuck button, there was no success it getting this unit to shut off other than manually raising the hard to lift dispensing button. I am reporting this from my winter vacation home where I reside for 4 continuous months, and the unit was installed in January of 2017. It has had only 6 months of use. I will call the Insinkerator customer service line tomorrow which is Monday and see how they can assist me, and at which time I will write a review on the outcome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fairly new Working as designed. Installation was easy since I replaced an older one and all hookups were in place. Would recommend a plumber for first time install. That's why only 3 stars for installation (as a caution for first time buyers)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from HOT100 button sticks when pressed Had this product less than a year. The button started sticking after a couple of months. Took a lot of maneuvering to get it to stop dispensing hot water. Finally, it would not stop at all. It appears that water residue starts accumulating between the button and the housing. We loved it for the first couple of months, but we will now have to replace it. I would go with a different design - lever, rather than button type. This was too finicky for us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced 20-year-old unit This unit replaced one that had worked faithfully for 20+ years. When it finally needed to be repaired, we chose to replace it with the newer model.
Date published: 2018-03-10
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good, works fine The satin nickel finish matches the kitchen faucet and I like the low profile. Though the specs say that 2 inches is required between the hole center and the backsplash, I only had 1 3/4 inches but the unit installed without a problem. I was concerned that the push-button mechanism would require too much pressure to get flow but it doesn't.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Take care This is a good product but be sure you test the button as it tends to stick.
Date published: 2018-03-06
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't know how we lived without it! First thing to go was that cumbersome kettle. One less counter top appliance to clean. The Insinkerator Hot is much more than a kettle. We use it to warm cups and to soften stubborn foods like cheese and egg from dishes. It also shaves so much time from boiling water for pasta. So many uses and looking forward to discovering them all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced another one just like it Our 10 year old Insinkerator instant hot water system failed. Started leaking and tripping the breaker. I removed it and replaced it with this system. Very easy, 30 minutes tops to remove the old and hook up the new. Getting the old handle loose from the countertop was the hardest part. I like the new pushbutton faucet, as the prior Wave style faucet handle would hit the backsplash when you used it. Only thing I would complain about, if you can call it a complaint, is that I had to take a trip to Lowes just to get a brass "ferrule" and nut to connect the copper water line from the new system to the cold water supply line under the sink. The instructions tell you exactly what you need, so it wasn't hard to shop, but why not include them in the box? Instructions fail to tell you to use plumber's tape on the threads when making the connection. Also, I did it all by myself, but a helper would be handy at certain points in the process for those reading this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great features My preference would be to have the push button on the left as I usually hold my cup orn pan with my right hand. I didn’t think of that when I bought it.
Date published: 2018-03-03
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Always like the instant hot faucets I always have one of these in the kitchen as I really like the easy access to hot water for tea or hot cocoa. I actually kept my other faucet as I do not care for a button to dispense the water. It is not as easy as the faucet with the handles.

What is the annual energy usage?

Asked by: M3mackenzie
Hi M3mackenzie, Thank you for contacting InSinkErator®. We can provide you information on how to compute for the total daily cost of our hot water dispensers. Studies have shown that using an instant hot water dispenser to provide near-boiling water can save up to 80% of the energy normally required to heat water to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. You can determine your cost of operation with an easy to use formula. You will need to know your local cost per kilowatt hour. This can usually be found on your energy bill or by contacting your local energy company. To determine the total cost, you will need to determine the “standby” cost and the “dispensing” cost and add them together. Please see the following formula: Standby Cost: 0.605 kWh x your “cents per kilowatt hour” = standby cost Dispensing Cost: 0.021 kWh x # of 8 oz cups used per day x “cents per kilowatt hr.” = dispensing cost Total Daily Cost: standby cost + dispensing cost = total daily cost If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through [email protected] or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you. Sincerely, Jerica InSinkErator Customer Service

Using an existing faucet?

I just got a HOT100 to replace an old Waste King model. I'd like to keep the original faucet, but it only includes two tubes to the heater (one in and and one out, which makes sense). What is the third one for on the HOT100 (and which one is the "extra")? Is it necessary to connect that third one?
Asked by: Howard12345
The Insinkerator 3rd connection (actually 4th counting the copper inflow) is an overflow which keeps the faucet from spitting or dripping. I think it does need to be connected to the tank, hence I only match such a faucet with an Insinkerator tank.
