High Performance Hot Water Tank is rated out of 5 by 10.
Rated 2 out of 5 by EvaLosAngeles from Tired of replacing every couple years I went through 4 or 5 of those units in the past 10 years or so. When they start leaking they cause damage to my sink cabinet. The last one was pretty devastating. I have to buy another one now, and am still stuck with the faucet, which I do like, so I may have to buy their tank , unfortunately. Customer service was kind enough to send a replacement when the units I purchased broke, but those broke too after couple years of use, and then the cycle starts again: purchasing a unit, calling a plumber to install, couple years of using it and then it leaks - calling a plumber to disconnect and remove, buy a new unit,... repeat. I used it on a lukewarm temperature lately, hoping it will last longer, but then the thermostat stopped working and I was getting nearly boiling water, no matter how far I turned the dial. I wish I could say it's worth the money, but I can't...

Rated 2 out of 5 by Nohotwater27 from Disappointed customer I am on my 5th instant hot water tank. The life of these units are not good. My first 4 units I was replacing them every 2 to 3 years. This last one was 5. Every time one goes out I have to have a plumber come and install it for me. Which cost extra. I am currently trying to find a replacement that doesn't cost as much as buying the whole unit. I called and talked with a representative and she said I was out of the warranty period. I am disappointed that insinkerator does not have a better product. Their units are not cheap. I would expect the hot water tank to last longer that 3 to 5 years. It has really become a hassle and an inconvenience to have this product. When the product is working I enjoy having instant hot water, but its a headache every time it goes out. If you are reading this comment. I would research other brands reviews before purchasing this one. If I have to pay top dollar to replace the hot water tank for my unit. I will be purchasing a different brand. I am very tired of the hassle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JLcalifornia from These products are junk and fail within a few years. The tank for our hot water dispenser began leaking less than five years after installation. InSinkErator will not stand behind its product and replace. Every other household appliance we own, including another hot water dispenser from another manufacturer, last decades. Searching online shows that this is a common problem with this product. Do your own research before buying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by brucem52 from Good as it gets This is my fourth unit purchased over the years but the first of their new commercial grade product. It gets as hot as advertised which is what I want since cream from the fridge always seems to cool it down. Not any more. Although it is a quality item, I do hope to get more then 3-4 years out of it as that seems to be the life expectancy for these h/w heaters. The one upside is you always get a substantial discount when ordered from the factory and it includes free shipping. With the counter top dispenser, having that quick cup of coffee or tea, soups, or oatmeal, it sure is easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Otilia from this is my third unit in 30 years and I would not give this up for the world! Over the years, we have had 3 units and we use it to make coffee, tea, to make and/or thin soups, to warm up baby formula, there are so many different uses and we have come to depend on it that when unit finally gives up, we can't do without it. I have found that the unit itself has been very reliable and free of need for repairs, etc. It has been a pleasure to use this type of unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by oddjobbob from Great hot water dispenser (HWD) Ordered this to replaced my octogenarian mother's 10 yo standard HWD that had developed a leak in the tank. I was a little disappointed that Insikerator didn't extend the warranty and send a new unit, but they did provide a 50% off "coupon" that allowed me to order the larger more robust HWD with the 1300W heater rather than the 700W heater in the standard model. The change-out took less than a half an hour including removing alll the stuff that my mom keeps under her sink. The new model allows my mom to make as much HOT!! water as she wants from the HWD. Great product and, with the coupon, a great price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BSchmaltzy from CONVENIENCE! I love the convenience of this appliance, especially since the hot water at our sink is very slow to heat up--problem solved, and water saved! A cup of hot tea or hot chocolate is simple now. The customer service agent we spoke to was very helpful, also. This was a replacement for an earlier one, and I was really missing it since a house fire had damaged it.

Can this product be used with the hot/cold faucet?
This unit would be replacement to an older HWT model. Can I still hook up the tank to my existing hot/cold contemporary faucet?
The hook up is the same if you are replacing the older model(grey). However, you will need a separate counter top/sink dispenser. This unit will not hook up to a standard hot or cold faucet.

We have EXTREMELY HARD water- what I want is an instant Hot and Cold tank with ORB fixture to match what I have and a very good filter system. So I am confused on what all I need to order. Thank you in advance:)
