Rated 2 out of 5 by mrich from I am not impressed with this product Lots of issues with this product! It is hard to put into place, does not let water flow through easily and I have to push even the smallest amounts of food through. It gets disgusting buildup on the underside that I have to clean every couple of days.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JudyCarol from I have been looking for the model of the Quiet Collar Sink Baffle that came with my disposer Is there a place that the older version of the Sink Baffle can be ordered? I have been to two different stores and the product is flimsy and of poorer quality than the original which is 11 years old. It needs to be replaced.

Rated 1 out of 5 by 2LittleFishies from awful SO, is there a way to get the old model back? We just replaced. It's flimsy, noisy and not nearly as great as the one that came with my unit about 4 years ago. PLEASE go back to the old model!! We threw away the old one because it had a slit in it and now I wished I saved it. : (

Rated 1 out of 5 by KYKY from Please offer the stronger baffle for purchase. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, where can I purchase the stronger, more stout material) Quiet Collar Sink Baffle? This one is way too flimsy. Please offer stronger baffle as an option. I heard folks complained about the stronger baffle because they had to push food down . . . but we have a septic system, we pour everything through a strainer first and the stout one kept everything from utensils from larger pieces of food.from falling down into the disposal. Your disposals are A+, but the baffle is not good quality, nor is it practical. If there are any more of the stronger baffles, for sale please let me know - I'll buy 12.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JM12 from Poorly made I agree with other reviews. This replacement is very flimsy which allows almost any small item to slip right through. I've ruined many small spoons and now feel like I have to check before I turn on the disposal. So annoying. The design is similar to the original, but the material is much thinner. Hoping I can find a sturdy replacement, but so far, no luck.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SuzyY from new replacement is not the same we did our kitchen remodel about 4 years ago and the collar that came with the disposal we excellent. it was sturdy and quiet. food needed to be pushed down, but that was easy to live with because while food didn't automatically drain into the disposal, neither did our silverware! eventually the time came to replace it and the new QCB-AM that's being sold everywhere is awful. it doesn't keep the noise down and the lightest bit of food just slides right down, along with our silverware and anything else small enough to fit. with kids, we have tons of little items that are constantly getting mauled in that thing. i've tried ordering replacements from various places and the photo that shows up on the list is what i had before, but the product that shows up at my door is the one shown on this review page. PLEASE bring back the sturdy one or at least put out both of them as options for people who like the flimsy noisy one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by GAM5000 from Acoustic Design - Can't have quiet and easy to feed As an engineer I want to share that designers who want to create a quiet disposal depend on water flow and some tricky acoustic baffles to have a type of noise block/noise canceling trade off with ease of water and waste flow. If water rushed down this baffle, noise would rush out ! The water flow over the baffles is critical to block noise. The balance in rubber durometer (hardness), thickness, and baffle chambers and how water flows over such baffles is complex science and 'quiet' became a selling point. The latest design E606 is a compromise from my OEM 'in-the-box' version that came with the unit that was a bit frustrating to use a BLUNT wooden spoon to force waste down. It was so quiet after I installed it I was mad it didn't switch on and envisioned the hassle of a return to the store .... when in fact it was actually running ! To install and seat the baffle use the stopper as a tool ... place stopper in baffle in your hand then push the entire assembly home until you feel it 'pop' into the 360* seat detent ring.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dennis2 from Food must be forced down We built a new house and selected the InSinkErator 1100 pro to be installed in the sink. It has a powerful motor and was told that it was very quiet. True on both accounts. Except food will not go down the drain. It must be forced. Even the water is slow going down. The disposal was professionally installed with the collar correctly fitted. There is no other collar option as a replacement. Surly the engineers who designed this actually tried it before going to market, but apparently not. I would not recommend this disposal.

How to mount the baffle?
We recently purchased an InSinkErator Evolution series and can't get the baffle to compress enough to get the disposal attached. Our instruction manual labels the part, but no where does it show that we are installing it in the right place. We are putting in the same place as the previous disposal but cannot get the connection even with significant force.
If I am not mistaken the baffle is not pinched between the disposal and mounting plate and sink as the primary liquid seal. The baffle is the very last thing to install from the top after you are all done and ready to test run it. It sits on your counter or in the box along with the stopper (so to speak) until the installation from under the sink is 100% complete. The baffle is what you pull out each week from the top to clean the underside of it and pop it back in ... 15 seconds total time round trip AFTER installation is done under the sink..

Not happy with the way water builds up in sink...I have to take the baffle out everytime
I replaced this baffle with RSB-00 and found that that solved the problem. The disposal is noisier, but the new baffle fits fine and lets water and food through.

While the baffle really dampens sound effectively, water & food doesn't flow though effectively.
I need to use a utensil or my hand to stuff things down. Any way to "loosen" the baffle for better flow? Happy to take a hit on the sound to make it work without having to touch things in the sink with my hands.
I bought baffle RSB-00 and found that it solved this problem.

We have a 444 3/4 hp unit is this the correct baffle
also the correct flange collar for 444 to new sink and gaskets thank you
Hi this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. The InSinkErator Quiet Collar Sink Baffle is not the correct replacement gasket for your 444 disposer. The correct accessory that you would have to look for is the MGK-00 Mounting Gasket Kit. Kindly use the Standard Mounting Gasket included in this kit. Regarding the flange, you may look for the FLG-SS for the Polished Stainless steel Flange or the FLG-SSB for the Brushed Stainless Steel Flange. Our regular flanges will require a sink with 3 ½” sink hole opening and will accommodate up to ¾” inch thick sink. You may purchase these accessories from any home improvement centers, plumbing supply houses or visit our InSinkErator Online Store at shop.insinkerator.com. If you have further questions, you may call our Answerline at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.
