Quiet Collar Sink Baffle is rated out of 5 by 161.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ellen805 from This product is quiet, as promised, but otherwise disappointing. We paid more money for this Insinkerator because of the sound issue. While it is more quiet than previous versions, the sink baffle is horrible! It’s a sticky mess. Food gets stuck in it, which didn’t happen before . Anything that touches the baffle has a sticky covering on it, which has to be scrubbed off. It ruins any type of dishwashing cloth or sponge. If you don’t catch it on any item going into the dishwasher, they come out with the gunk still on them!!! Seriously reconsidering using Insinkerator ever again...Not a happy customer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Sylvia59 from Smelly Odor The rubber stopper holds food on the underside. I’m constant having to pull it out and clean it. It smells so bad. Is there another version of the rubber stopper that does not catch the food?

Rated 1 out of 5 by nratchet from What is this made of??? My disposal is great but this baffle is awful! We paid more for this disposal as it was said to be the best but this simple small part is going to put them out of business! I'm on my second baffle and it's a gummy mess! I'm in need of a third and my disposal is slightly under 5 years old. I have no idea why it's doing this as the only thing in my sink is products that can easily go down and are safe for the disposal.

Rated 2 out of 5 by dog1 from Quiet Collar Sink Baffle works as intended but what they don't tell you is your kitchen sink won't drain anymore. It drains so slow its almost embarrassing infact and in my opinion a health hazard due to the dirty floating water. Best to use a standard collar - water drains asap like it should.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Andree from If this baffle would attach permanently it might be okay I often have to remove it before putting anything in it because when I turn on it sucks the baffle in and chews it up. I am constantly having to fool with it where I’ve seen others that stay in place no matter what.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Tom455 from Baffle replacement The old baffle that I need to replace is the original that came with the 1978 garbage disposal I believe. The disposal was replaced at least 10 years ago. The new baffle, which looks like the one above and which I bought at Ace Hardware, does not fit. It's too big and would not work if I kept it. Are there any old style ones available?

Rated 2 out of 5 by xcentrik from Flimsy baffle The garbage disposal itself is good, but the baffle is very poor. It does help absorb the sound, but unfortunately it is very flimsy. Multiple times dish cloths and small kitchen items have fallen into the disposal without me knowing. Food also gets stuck underneath the baffle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Joe53 from Poor Design/Performance Poor design and flimsy construction allows bits of food to get trapped between this rubber baffle and the metal sink collar. The bits of food then decay causing a smelly and potentially unsanitary condition. Would prefer the old standard mounting gasket arrangement that does not allow food particles to become trapped. Will never buy a unit with this design again.

How to mount the baffle?
We recently purchased an InSinkErator Evolution series and can't get the baffle to compress enough to get the disposal attached. Our instruction manual labels the part, but no where does it show that we are installing it in the right place. We are putting in the same place as the previous disposal but cannot get the connection even with significant force.
If I am not mistaken the baffle is not pinched between the disposal and mounting plate and sink as the primary liquid seal. The baffle is the very last thing to install from the top after you are all done and ready to test run it. It sits on your counter or in the box along with the stopper (so to speak) until the installation from under the sink is 100% complete. The baffle is what you pull out each week from the top to clean the underside of it and pop it back in ... 15 seconds total time round trip AFTER installation is done under the sink..

Not happy with the way water builds up in sink...I have to take the baffle out everytime
I replaced this baffle with RSB-00 and found that that solved the problem. The disposal is noisier, but the new baffle fits fine and lets water and food through.

While the baffle really dampens sound effectively, water & food doesn't flow though effectively.
I need to use a utensil or my hand to stuff things down. Any way to "loosen" the baffle for better flow? Happy to take a hit on the sound to make it work without having to touch things in the sink with my hands.
I bought baffle RSB-00 and found that it solved this problem.

We have a 444 3/4 hp unit is this the correct baffle
also the correct flange collar for 444 to new sink and gaskets thank you
Hi this is Jerica from InSinkErator Customer Service. The InSinkErator Quiet Collar Sink Baffle is not the correct replacement gasket for your 444 disposer. The correct accessory that you would have to look for is the MGK-00 Mounting Gasket Kit. Kindly use the Standard Mounting Gasket included in this kit. Regarding the flange, you may look for the FLG-SS for the Polished Stainless steel Flange or the FLG-SSB for the Brushed Stainless Steel Flange. Our regular flanges will require a sink with 3 ½” sink hole opening and will accommodate up to ¾” inch thick sink. You may purchase these accessories from any home improvement centers, plumbing supply houses or visit our InSinkErator Online Store at shop.insinkerator.com. If you have further questions, you may call our Answerline at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.
