Dispenser Makes Rumbling or Gurgling Sound
If your hot water tank makes a rumbling or gurgling sound, find out how to adjust the temperature.
- Rumbling/gurgling is normal and will happen every 15 minutes. It is the sound of the water heating to the set temperature.
- If the water temperature in your tank is set too high, it may make a louder rumbling or gurgling noise when heating the water. To adjust the thermostat, look at the tank using a flashlight, if needed.
Locate the thermostat dial on the front of the tank and turn it 1/2 a notch counterclockwise to decrease the temperature. - Empty hot water from the tank.
Depress or twist the dispenser handle for 20 seconds to allow cold water to enter the tank. Allow the water to reheat to the new setting. - Continue adjusting the temperature to your liking.
Continue adjusting the dial in small increments until the temperature is to your liking.
