IMPORTANT

  • Make certain the garbage disposal's switch is in the off position. Do not place your hand in the garbage disposal at any time.

  1. Check inside the garbage disposal's grind chamber.
Look down into the garbage disposal using a flashlight. Pay special attention to the area around the outer edge of the garbage disposal's shredding disk where you see the little teeth. If you see anything in the garbage disposal, remove it using tongs or pliers.
  2. If you are hearing a loud, vibrating noise, ensure the garbage disposal is installed properly.
Make sure all plumbing connections are tight and check if the lower mounting ring has become unlocked from the mounting assembly. If it is unlocked, tighten by inserting the wrench into the left side of the metal loop on the lower mounting ring and rotate right. You should feel or hear a click when it locks into place.
  3. If the mounting ring is locked into place, check for stuck impellers.
