Installing a Flexible Discharge Tube on a Garbage Disposal

If you're using a flexible discharge tube to install your new InSinkErator garbage disposal, here are some quick installation instructions.

Before attempting to install your flexible discharge tube, read and understand the entire InSinkErator installation instructions listed below.
  • Flexible Tube
  • Black Rubber Gasket
  • Red Two Bolt Tailpipe Flange

*This piece is typically not needed. It is only required for garbage disposals with threaded discharge.

IMPORTANT

  • If your garbage disposal is a single bolt model, use the existing single bolt tailpipe flange that came with the garbage disposal.
  • If your garbage disposal is a double bolt model, use the red two bolt tailpipe flange.
  • The flexible discharge tube is compatible with Badger models only. It is not compatible with Evolution models.


  1. Connecting Flexible Discharge Tube to garbage disposal with Single Bolt Flange:
    Force the single bolt flange over the raised lip on the flexible discharge tube.

    Stretch the rubber gasket over the raised lip of the flexible discharge tube with the flat side of the rubber gasket facing out. Make sure the raised lip sits inside the groove on the inside of the rubber gasket.

    Secure the flexible discharge tube to the garbage disposal's discharge opening (rubber gasket in discharge opening) using the single bolt flange.

    Not used: red two bolt flange and flanged washer
     
  2. Connecting Flexible Discharge Tube to disposal with Two Bolt Flange:
    Force two bolt flange over the raised lip on the flexible discharge tube.

    Stretch the rubber gasket over the raised lip of the flexible discharge tube with the flat side of the rubber gasket facing out. Make sure the raised lip sits inside the groove on the inside of the rubber gasket.

    Secure the flexible discharge tube to the garbage disposal's discharge opening (rubber gasket in discharge opening) using the two bolt flange.

    Not used: flanged washer
