Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and Efficient ordering process It was fast and cost-effective to order the unit I needed through Insinkerator rather than going to Home Depot or Lowe's. The only problem was that they did not tell me I needed a new filter so I had to go out the day my plumber was installing it and get one locally - at a higher price. You should always replace the filter with a new dispenser. They should have told me that on the phone. Otherwise, seamless process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good This is an excellent product & I have several in this house & in several other locations since about 1988. My only hope is that it is lasting. That is why I have bought the top of the line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fairly reliable This is our fourth unit in 22 years. Each has lasted about 5 years before something happens to them. We rely so much on the unit that we can't be without so we always buy a new one. They install fairly easy. Our first unit only cost us about $80 and over the years we are now up to $230.00. Quite an increase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice replacement We have had InSinkErator hot water dispensers for many years, and the new Contour replacement is working fine. I especially like the newer designed faucet on top of the sink as it is more comfortable to the hand and is designed so water does not get into the top which made the old one look bad. I hope this one lasts as long as the old one which was about 9 years. We have used the hot water dispenser virtually every day for hot drinks and cleaning dishes and pans that have baked foods sticking to the insides of the utensils.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I love my new Instant hot. I don't know how, but the handle turns more smoothly than any of the other 5 that I have owned over time. I would highly recommend this one.

Will the faucet stay turned on if I let go of it such as when fillingl a large pot?

I read a review on Home Depot website that said the knob is very difficult to turn. Is this generally much of an issue ?
Asked by: drbackspin
No...the handle is spring-loaded. It's only on as long as you hold it on.

Fit

I have a "classic" model which is about 20 years old. Will the current contour or classic model fit the hole in my countertop?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, we had an old one and the new one went right into the hole of the replaced one! NO problem!

Why does the water smell when it comes out of the dispenser faucet?

When I tried to drink my tea it tasted horrible. Each time I try it, the water smells like an iron. What can I do? This is a brand new unit.
Asked by: JRKM
I have owned 4 of these units over the last 32 years. When they are brand new, or when they have not been used for awhile (like when you are on vacation), there is an iron taste, just as you described. I found an easy fix! I drained the unit until all of the hot water ran out. Once usually does the trick for me. The more you use it, the less you will encounter this problem.

We installed an Invite Contour dispenser yesterday and the unit constantly drips and every few minutes erupts into a spray of hot water all over.

Is this unit defective? Thank you
Asked by: Clay
Sounds like a defective seal inside the faucet. If turning it back and fourth a few times doesn't make it stop leaking, it's time to return it.

I installed the Invite Conture hot water dispdeser and after two+ hours the water is only slightly warm.

I tested the power source and it is working. I flushed out the tank with three gallons of water prior to plugging in the tank. I also have since moved the temp dial to max without noticing any difference. I bought this at Lowe's today 9-23-2014. I had a older model that I replaced with this new one. I believe the unit is bad and I should return it to Lowe's for an exchange! What do you think?
Asked by: Brett
Yes, it sounds as if your unit is defective. Insinkerator stands behind their products.
