Rated 3 out of 5 by from designed to fail This is my third dispenser. After the last one failed, I opened it up and found that the failure was caused by a design error. The small tubing that returns hot water from the valve was made of low temperature vinyl tubing that is not intended for the temperature conditions in the dispenser. The tubing had turned dark, was brittle and had cracked open. The tank was fine, so I replaced the tubing with silicon tubing (designed for high temperature) and will keep the system as a spare (I had already purchased and installed the new one). I did not check the new one, so it is possible that they have corrected this design error.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced another older Insinkerator Stuck with this brand. Retailer had it in stock. Disconnect, connect, easy peasy. Very low noise level compared to past unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from convenience! replaced a similar model that worked very well for 7 years before malfunctioning. its usefulness was brought home by the time I spent heating water on the stove or microwave for coffee and tea before a plumber could come to install it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wish they supplied all the parts... I bought this to replace one that I installed in 1997. The older unit has 100% copper tubing where as the new one only had one copper tube. Considering there is copper tube that has to connect to another copper tube, one would think that the kit would include the $3 compression fitting WHICH IT DIDN'T so I had to make a trip to the local Lowes to get the required parts. Other than that I only had about 1 hour of labor to replace the old unit. Hopefully this will last as long but I kinda wonder because it is obviously cheaper made. Time will tell

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this I love this. The large handle I hope will be better for not breaking off like the last one I had. The lever type aren’t as sturdy. It’s very attractive as well I use this so much. Not just for the obvious tea etc. I actually use it for sterilization as well of so many things like my toothbrush. It’s also great for heating an ice cream scoop before serving. Easy to install but I didn’t have a hot outlet under the sink so took a bit more effort for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected So far so good. This is the third one I have. The water quality even with a filter eventually leads to its demise. The last one lasted almost 5 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful to have hot, hot water at any moment. This was my one must-have when I redid my kitchen. I love that I don't have to waste water by running and running the faucet until hot water comes through. I can't really speak to the ease of installation since I wasn't here when it was installed but I was forced to choose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot water for the moms I bought this as a replacement for another one had been in the house for a very long time. We use this for our elderly mom's so they don't have to be near the stove. Very easy for them to turn the knob on this unit. Updates to the unit and installation are very good.

Will the faucet stay turned on if I let go of it such as when fillingl a large pot?

I read a review on Home Depot website that said the knob is very difficult to turn. Is this generally much of an issue ?
Asked by: drbackspin
No...the handle is spring-loaded. It's only on as long as you hold it on.

We installed an Invite Contour dispenser yesterday and the unit constantly drips and every few minutes erupts into a spray of hot water all over.

Is this unit defective? Thank you
Asked by: Clay
Turn down the temperature control. The water is boiling and pressure builds up which cases the spray "all over".

Fit

I have a "classic" model which is about 20 years old. Will the current contour or classic model fit the hole in my countertop?

I installed the Invite Conture hot water dispdeser and after two+ hours the water is only slightly warm.

I tested the power source and it is working. I flushed out the tank with three gallons of water prior to plugging in the tank. I also have since moved the temp dial to max without noticing any difference. I bought this at Lowe's today 9-23-2014. I had a older model that I replaced with this new one. I believe the unit is bad and I should return it to Lowe's for an exchange! What do you think?
Asked by: Brett
Unfortunately Insinkerator doesn't sell parts and there's no possibility of repair. Sounds like your thermostat is shot. If Lowes will take it back, great, but after almost four years, I think you'd be whistling Dixie. These things have a limited life span. You can get a new one from the company for half the greatly increased price.

Can I buy this unit, the Invite Contour and use the tank only, with my faucet from the model SST that we have had for 8 years before it failed?

This faucet was the H-View SN-SS ( 1 handle version) . Will all hoses line up ? Please advise.
Asked by: BadgerPat
Worked for my installation. Everything lines up, just disconnect & reconnect! Note: Mostly drain hot water first!
