Poor Flow from Faucet

If there is low water flow from your faucet, find out how to resolve the issue.

Written Directions Materials Needed
Before attempting to repair your hot water product, read and understand the entire InSinkErator safety and installation instructions listed below. None

  1. Confirm the water supply valve is not closed or plugged.
Ensure the water supply valve is opened fully; turn valve to close position then open fully. If a self-piercing saddle valve is used, close the saddle valve by turning the pin all the way in, then turn so it's fully open.
Continue with the troubleshooting below if issue is not resolved.
  2. Confirm if aerator is blocked or clogged.
Unscrew the aerator from the end of the spout. For FHC1020/FH1020 units, insert end piece removal tool to unthread end piece from spout.
Press the hot or cold side handle. If water dispenses from the faucet without issue, the aerator is blocked. Clean the aerator by running water through it in the opposite direction, soaking in a hard water/mineral deposit remover, or cleaning with a vinegar solution. If none of these options work, you may need to replace the aerator.
Continue with the troubleshooting below if water does not dispense after removing the aerator.
  3. Check filter.
If you have a filtration system connected and the filter has not been recently replaced, try replacing it to determine if that resolves the issue.
Continue with the troubleshooting below if you do not have a filtration system or if you have replaced your filter recently.
  4. Check for severely bent or kinked tubing.
Check for any kinks on the supply line tubing and the tubing from the faucet to the tank and straighten if any are found. Check as fully as possible up to the faucet assembly.
Check for obstructions in the faucet assembly/outlet tube or tank inlet. Disconnect the inlet fitting (blue tube) from the tank and press the hot side handle, positioning the tube over or placing it in a bucket to catch the water.
If there is no flow, this indicates a blockage in the faucet or outlet tube. Please contact us for further assistance.
If there is a strong flow, this indicates a blockage in the tank's inlet or outlet. Please contact us for further assistance.
