Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor taste I like the concept of having hot water on demand, but the taste is awful, almost like drinking dirt. Our tap water does not taste like this. We'll be getting the extra (and costly) filter but feel this extra cost should have been included with the product. Installation wasn't easy, but mostly due to us not having an outlet under the sink and having to put in additional wiring to make this work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Water odor The unit is a replacement. There is a strong odor - like and electrical issue- from the unit but there does not seem to be an electrical problem

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic product, install was very easy! Only took about 30 minutes to install, including the removal of the old insta hot product. Much more energy efficient than the old models. Also much easier to control the temperature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thoroughly happy - this unit replaced one we have used fro 20 years. The Invite classic was happily received and installed. This is used daily, and has been fro years. I do not know the install date of our original unit, but the new one was easily installed. The exterior twist-handle has been updated fro a nicer "kitchen-Bling". Our original one was also on a circuit we have covered by our standby generator.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from HOT WATER IS INSTANT HANDLE IS TOO FAT AND HITS THE BACKSPLASH. MY PREVIOUS INSINKERATOR HAD A TALL SLIM HANDLE WHICH WAS PERFECT. HAD UNIT INSTALLED SO DO NOT KNOW IF WAS EASY OR HAD ON-TIME DELIVERY. YOU NEED TO UPDATE YOUR QUESTIONS.

Dripping comes from the dispenser faucet. Sometimes it occurs after the unit has been turned off; other times, it occurs spontaneously. All solutions listed in the owner's manual for this problem have been tested by a plumber. None applies.

Answer:
Hi Signe,

Thank you for contacting InSinkErator®.

The dispenser is not designed to deliver boiling water. If your dispenser is spitting/ spurting or dripping on its own intermittently or cyclically, the water may be boiling in the tank. The thermostat would then need to be lowered. Please follow the easy steps listed below to adjust the thermostat to a lower setting.

1. Locate the thermostat dial on the front of the tank and turn it a 1/2 notch counter clockwise to decrease the temperature. All changes should be minimal.

2. Depress or twist the dispenser handle for 20 seconds to allow cold water to enter the tank. Allow the water to reheat to the new setting.

The above procedure may need to be repeated several times. If lowering the temperature does not seem to resolve the issue, you may have a problem with low water pressure. The unit requires a minimum of 30 PSI to operate correctly. Water pressure below 30 PSI when entering the tank can cause intermittent dripping issues. You can try to check if this may be the problem using the following steps:

1. Unplug the dispenser. As with any electrical appliance, appropriate cautions should be observed when removing the plug from the outlet.

2. Dispense approximately 16 ounces of water. Leave the unit unplugged and observe to see if the intermittent discharge of water stops. If the dripping stops completely, your water pressure into the tank may not be sufficient to properly drain the expansion chamber. Please check the following:

• Check that there are no kinks or bends in the lines from the faucet to the tank. Also be sure that there are no kinks or bends on the incoming water supply line to the faucet.

• Check to be sure that your supply valve is fully open. If you have a saddle valve, completely close the valve and fully reopen it.

• Check to be sure you have at least 30 PSI to the dispenser. If you have a filtration system, check to see if the filter cartridge needs to be changed or if the system is dropping pressure below the required 30 PSI.

If you have attempted to lower the temperature, have checked to be sure that there is a minimum of 30 PSI to the product, and continue to experience the problem, your dispenser may require service or replacement at this time and we would recommend you leave the dispenser unplugged until the issue is resolved.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through [email protected] or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Jerica

Hi, this is Jerica from InSinkErator® Customer Service. Yes, you may use the HWT of the H-Classic-SS hot water dispenser as replacement to your SST. The HWT and SST have the same dimensions. If your previous faucet worked with an SST model, then is should also work with the new HWT hot water tank. You may use the promotion code given to you to purchase any InSinkErator products. The promotion code has a validity of 5 days and can be used for single transaction only. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through [email protected] or call InSinkErator AnswerLine at 1 (800) 558-5700. Thank you.
