Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product I bought this product to replace an older model. This installation was strait forward. We can't believe the difference. This model is so quiet it seems like it's not running. We are very pleased overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful and quiet. This disposal is so quiet I cannot hear it when the water is running and just barely when the water is off. Top of the line product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Disposal- strong and quiet I love this disposal, it’s relatively very quiet and has a lot of power. It quickly grinds everything. We’re pleased with our purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine! I chose to install it myself, even though I just an ordinary, slightly clumsy homeowner. Prior machine was an Insinkerator, so configuration was the same. Instructions were clear. Installation was straightforward. I love the machine! It is quiet and powerful. I have to pay attention and remember to turn it off, since the noise is so low. So far, I haven't found anything that gives it any trouble.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good product We moved into a condo with a lower end model made by the same company. However it was excessively loud. This model is considerably quieter. However, we don't put all food scraps in it, such as bones or leftovers, because we want to save on water.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it. We had this disposal professionally installed so I don't know the ease of installation for a lay person. So far it has worked great. Very quiet operation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet, quick what else could you want Quiet and quick, and has the dishwasher addition. Not the same dimensions as the other models , had to modify pipes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good I bought this model this time, so that we would have a little extra room under the sink. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. I just wish it were a bit quieter. I have bought Insinkerators for all three homes we have had, plus I grew up in a home with this same brand. Keep up the good work!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super quiet and powerful disposer I replaced a very noisy competitor product and am very satisfied with the Evolution Compact food waste disposer. The Evolution Compact food waste disposer is extremely quiet and powerful. The installation of the Evolution Compact food waste disposer went exceptionally well and took this DIY guy a few hours. I highly recommend the Evolution Compact food waste disposer and am very confident you will be satisfied with purchasing the Evolution Compact food waste disposer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't do the job This disposal is quiet and I would have given it a good review until it wasn't able to chew up apple peel (and very little of it). Disappointing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good medium-duty disposer This replaced a similar-rated model from the same company. Form, fit and function were great. The previous unit also needed to be wired in. Next time the kitchen is re-done, I'll make sure a plug-in outlet is added for future replacements. Good, quiet, capable product..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Quiet This disposer is very quiet and works even filling with waste very quickly. The installation took very little time. Good product..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An easy and simple installation of a very good disposal. This unit replaced a disposal unit that had been in place for almost eight years. I felt the installation was super smooth and now problems were encountered. Once installed, the sound trial was surprisingly low, no vibration or transmitted rattling. This has been a good buy, and I would recommend it to any home owner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent disposal Replaced an older Insinkerator model and it mounted right up to the old sink mount with ease. It only took about 5 minutes! Amazed how quiet this model is. I can barely hear it when it's running. Very happy and would recommend it without hesitation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product My plumber highly recommended Insinkerator when old disposal died. I was stunned at how quiet it is and of course it also quickly disposes of food items in the disposal. A great purchase overall!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from quit and works great Have it professionally installed and no worries on your end. Like i bought the stainless model and to replace the last one in 6 years. Hope to never replace this one with 12 warranty.
Date published: 2018-01-02
Rated 4 out of 5 by from This disposal is quiet. I had previously installed this product and after only a couple of years the internal housing seal where it meets the drain outlet metal has begun to corrode and the plastic buckled and the rotor plate would hit the plastic liner and cause a thumping noise therefore I had to replace the disposal. I have had disposals that would last over 10 years and did not cost near as much, if this disposal has the same internal issue I will not buy this brand again.
Date published: 2018-01-02
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The quietest disposal I've ever had We've only been using this disposal about 2 months, but so far we're very happy with it. It's so much quieter than the one we used to have, that I checked down into the drain to make sure it had worked the first time I used it. I didn't give 5 stars for the "ease of installation," because our plumber had to realign the plumbing in order to hook it up, as the old alignment didn't work. But part of that problem may have been because our new sink is larger than the old one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't Grind A Strawberry We bought a 3/4 hp insinkerator a month ago. Were told it was the quiet model. We were told not to dispose of orange or lemon peels or potato peels or other assorted every day items in the machine. 1. Cannot grind strawberries 2. Is much louder than the one it replaced. 3. Why buy an insinkerator if you can't use it for everyday food items?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't be happier. The original Badger 1 needed replacement after 6 years as it came with the new house. It was the noisiest garbage disposal ever. It made the whole kitchen island shake. I ended up choosing the Evolution compact as I have a reverse osmosis under the kitchen sink cabinet and space is limited. What a difference. Installation was a breeze. At first when I hooked it up and turned on the switch I thought it wasn't working. I couldn't believe how silent and vibrate free it was. I love the fact that the quiet collar sink baffle is removable as it wasn't the case with my previous one and it looked horrible after six year. Not anymore as you can easily remove and clean it. Easy to replace if it ever gets used and filthy. Couldn't be happier with my Evolution compact and it's a pleasure to use.

Does the Evolution Compact use a smaller size stopper versus the standard size disposers?

I need to order a stopper for the compact but feel the opening appears smaller than the norm and would require a slightly smaller stopper. Is this correct? Is there a part number I could get?

My Evolution Compact was very quiet. It still works but is making noise.

Asked by: Alresidue
You might have something stuck in it. Look very carefully inside the top and look for anything that might not belong. Could be something steel or plastic and may be a small piece. If you have to remove the unit to look do that but do not turn it on, disconnect or unplug the unit before removing or putting anything in it.

Why will dishwasher not drain when hose is connected to the disposer?

I replaced a badger model disposer with a Evolution Spacesaver model. Now the dishwasher will not drain when the hose os connected to the disposer. If I disconnect the dishwasher drain hose from the disposer it will drain with no problem.

Sounds like you didn't punch out the plug in the fitting where the dishwasher drain hose attaches to the disposer. Reread the installation instructions.

Yesterday, the water in the sink started to drain very slowly, as if a drain is clogged. What should I do?

The only thing I can think of that might have clogged it was some cooked kale (about 1 cup) I ground recently. Should I use a chemical drain clog remover?

remove the connection to the drain at the disposer. probably hair, strings, fat or other stuff right there blocking the drain.

My insinkerator Evolution Compact is leaking at the tailpipe mount area.

The tailpipe mount appears to be cracked, but I think that the discharge from the container body/motor joint is also causing problems. It looks like the discharge is now misshapen.

LOUD intermitent BANGing...

Grinds and disposes of waste properly, motor spins freely, nothing visible in chamber,no leaks, and has never tripped the reset button,,, but the loud banging keeps my wife from using it. Sounds like it is coming apart inside but the unusual thing is, the bang is not constant, meaning it is not a steady ryhtymic banging, it can happen at start up or after a few seconds. We have had this product aprox 11 months. And with this being one of your "better" product lines we are highly dissatisfied with the product, especially if you consider the cost of the "evolution" series Please Help

Comparison between Evolution Compact and Evolution Essential

I searched in vain for a direct comparison of your individual models, then compared the pdf spec sheets for these two. It looks like the only differences are a smaller grind chamber and a shorter in-home warranty (4 years versus 6). The space savings seems to be 3/4" in diameter and 1/2" in height, which produce the smaller grind chamber dimensions. Are there any other differences between these models? Thanks- Bob
Asked by: TheBob
I believe that if you go to the Home Depot website you can choose the two that you are interested in and click on 'compare'. It will bring up a chart with the two you selected and you can see which one fits your needs. Hope that this helps!

Water doesn't drain completely from the disposer after it's used.

We're told this is due to the disposal being lower than the drain piple. Is there any chance that replacing the current disposal with a compact model would make a difference by raising the level of the disposal? This came up during a kitchen remodeling.
Asked by: rabbit
I had that problem with my old insinkerator. The exit on the new Evolution Compact was slightly higher than the old one and it solved the problem.

I would imagine that as long as the opening is the same size and the sink is strong enough to support the weight of the disposal you could install it under your sink. It is a very quiet unit with very little vibration.... Will be interested if it works for you. You can contact me through the same place you submitted your question. Hope that this helps you!
