Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great disposal! The Evolution Compact is a great product for our needs. It was easy to install and very quiet. I also like that the collar sink baffle can be removed for easy cleaning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product does the job We were looking for a disposer that would work hard. This one does the job. It gets Rudy of whatever we put down it and it is quite also. I like the warranty option I can work it hard for a few years and see how it goes and be baked of something goes wrong. Good price and ready to install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go for the Evolution series! Wonderful product. Originally purchased a Insinkeraror Badger series disposal and it was not what we wanted. While the horsepower was the same (3/4), the products are very different. Do yourself a favor and skip the Badger series and go didectly to Evolution. You will be glad you did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted. This is my first garbage disposer, and I am very happy with my purchase of the Evolution Compact. Extremely quiet, works beautifully, and it's compact enough to allow for plenty of room to store cleaning products under my very small sink and 24" cabinet. Looks great, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very efficient and quiet This is my second one, I wore the first one out in 10 years. I dispose of watermelon rind. cantaloupe rind, grapefruit. Orange, lemon, about everything but bones. The best one I have ever had.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product is quiet and fast. This is the third Insinkerator that we have installed in both this house and another. Great machines and used daily. We had our last one over 12 years and if the motor had not created an issue, we would have kept it. The new one is quiet, fast, and easy to keep clean. New feature to allow the removal and cleaning of the sink trap is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product It's compact, works efficiently and is quiet....but not so quiet that you can't tell whether or not it's on. I loved it so much, I bought another one for our other sink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I made the change! As it was easier to do some plumbing work with my current disposal out of the way, I made decision to replace what I had, which was a 14 year old ISE product. Did the older model work- yes it did. Is the new one better? Yes, by far! More power, very quiet, and the new design actually leaves a little more room under the sink. Additionall, if the rubber gizmo that covers the drain ever bocomes damaged or gross, it can be popped-out and replaced very easily. Nice additional feature to the new models.
Date published: 2017-03-18
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features It made quiet quick work of everything we put through it. Swapping out the old one for the new was easy with the instructions.
Date published: 2017-03-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet product Very quiet. Install was slightly trickier due to length between disposal and other drain (requiring additional trip to get drain parts), but not difficult once parts were on-site.
Date published: 2017-03-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from queter than old popular one This evolution is a lot quieter and stronger that our old Badger 5 that was popular in its heyday and with a bigger motor. I installed it myself and had zero problems.
Date published: 2017-03-16
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quiet Compared to old one the Insinkerator is very quiet. Easy for service man (plumber) to install.
Date published: 2017-03-16
Rated 4 out of 5 by from pretty good product I think this disposal is good - I am not a person who uses a disposal an awful lot, but so far, it is working. it's very quiet which is a delight, but I find it necessary to have a fair amount of patience to get all of the material into the grinding part of the mechanism - previously, I had a noisy product that grabbed everything quickly - this time around it's quiet, but I always need to check to make sure everything I've added has been consumed - more often than not, I need to give it an extra go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install! I couldn't believe when I first turned this product on how quiet it was. It was easy to install with easy to follow instructions. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The strong silent type We appreciate everything about this appliance that our plumber strongly recommend. We very much trust this plumber we have used for years and when our last grinder gave out after 8 years by leaking under the sink from rust holes we agreed to upgrade. This new guy is strong, grinds up the usual mess in seconds then is quiet as they come and no vibration like the old one. We love it and hope it lasts a long time but when necessary will replace with another insinkerator.
Date published: 2017-03-14
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great unit, very quite It took a plumber just 10 minutes to install. I probably could have installed it myself since it replaced another Insinkerator unit.
Date published: 2017-03-13
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quiet "Godzilla" is very quiet compared to our old Incinerator. It is very heavy, so need someone strong enough to hold up and turn locking collar in a cramped area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice unit and very quiet. This unit replaced an over 15 year old insinkerator disposal that finally gave up. The new unit is very quiet when running and was very easy to install in place of the old one. I highly recommend this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Something you can count on We replaced a 4 year old, perfectly operating, smaller model Badger with this one only because we remodeled the entire kitchen and what-the-heck why not go 'all new'. This one is quieter, not that the old one was noisy. Slightly bigger diameter, but should fit most sinks. Ours is a Blanco double, under-mount, and deep, and it fits fine. We've only ever had ISE; it's the 'standard' in our book. It's exactly what we expected, and we are pleased.
Date published: 2017-03-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth and quiet The insinkerator disposal is so quite yet grinds all waste efficiently.
Date published: 2017-03-12
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plug 'n play Got this unit as a replacement for another insinkerator. Very pleased. Although the unit it was replacing was around 15 years old, the new one just "plugged" right in (thanks, Insinkerator, for keeping your connections consistent over the years) making it easy for a homeowner to do the job. The only difficulty was the upper body strength needed to lay on your back and hold the darned thing over your head to get it screwed into place. The new unit is very quite compared to the previous, and the removable splash guard is fantastic - I can pull it out once a week and give it a wash, eliminating and build-up of gunk underneath.
Date published: 2017-03-12
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much quieter than our previous disposer We decided to upgrade our disposer due to our "open concept" living and our previous disposer was quite noisy. The Insinkerator is so much quieter.
Date published: 2017-03-11
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whisper Quiet I had my kitchen updated and decided to replace my old garbage disposal. I'm so glad that I did. This one is more powerful and so quiet. It works great. I will tell my friends and family about this unit.
Date published: 2017-03-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from The product is very good and quiet I would recommend this product highly; the customer service department was execellent to obtain information.
Date published: 2017-03-10
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet, well worth the extra money The seal broke in my Badger 1/2 hp which seems to be the most basic model you can buy. The extra money was well worth it to get a unit that is quiet.
Date published: 2017-03-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it It's a little bigger than my last one. Easy to put in. Once it was in and after i turned it in i was amazed how quite it was. It's all most like it isn't even running. So far so good. It all works great. I've only had it for a month so hopeful it will last a long time. I think they should have supplied "plumbers mud" with it so i would not have had to go back and buy some for insulation.
Date published: 2017-03-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great reviews versus the Badger which has poor reviews I ordered the Evolution Compact disposer to replace the same model which died after 9 years. I figure if the new one works as long as the previous one, it is well worth the extra money spent on it.

Does the Evolution Compact use a smaller size stopper versus the standard size disposers?

I need to order a stopper for the compact but feel the opening appears smaller than the norm and would require a slightly smaller stopper. Is this correct? Is there a part number I could get?

The stopper for our new one was the exact same as our previous Insinkerator model.

Why will dishwasher not drain when hose is connected to the disposer?

I replaced a badger model disposer with a Evolution Spacesaver model. Now the dishwasher will not drain when the hose os connected to the disposer. If I disconnect the dishwasher drain hose from the disposer it will drain with no problem.

Sounds like you didn't punch out the plug in the fitting where the dishwasher drain hose attaches to the disposer. Reread the installation instructions.

What is considered a Small Bone that is OK to put in the Evolution Compact?

Hi, It says in your guide that small bones is recommended for use in the Evolution compact. Would all parts of the chicken classify as a small bone (Thigh Bone, Leg Bone, etc?) What about bones from Pork Chops, or Lamb Chops or Lamb Racks? Pork Baby Back Ribs? I would like to grind bones but want to make sure that I don't put something in that could damage or clog the machine. Thanks

Yesterday, the water in the sink started to drain very slowly, as if a drain is clogged. What should I do?

The only thing I can think of that might have clogged it was some cooked kale (about 1 cup) I ground recently. Should I use a chemical drain clog remover?

My insinkerator Evolution Compact is leaking at the tailpipe mount area.

The tailpipe mount appears to be cracked, but I think that the discharge from the container body/motor joint is also causing problems. It looks like the discharge is now misshapen.

LOUD intermitent BANGing...

Grinds and disposes of waste properly, motor spins freely, nothing visible in chamber,no leaks, and has never tripped the reset button,,, but the loud banging keeps my wife from using it. Sounds like it is coming apart inside but the unusual thing is, the bang is not constant, meaning it is not a steady ryhtymic banging, it can happen at start up or after a few seconds. We have had this product aprox 11 months. And with this being one of your "better" product lines we are highly dissatisfied with the product, especially if you consider the cost of the "evolution" series Please Help

Comparison between Evolution Compact and Evolution Essential

I searched in vain for a direct comparison of your individual models, then compared the pdf spec sheets for these two. It looks like the only differences are a smaller grind chamber and a shorter in-home warranty (4 years versus 6). The space savings seems to be 3/4" in diameter and 1/2" in height, which produce the smaller grind chamber dimensions. Are there any other differences between these models? Thanks- Bob

I believe that if you go to the Home Depot website you can choose the two that you are interested in and click on 'compare'. It will bring up a chart with the two you selected and you can see which one fits your needs. Hope that this helps!

Water doesn't drain completely from the disposer after it's used.

We're told this is due to the disposal being lower than the drain piple. Is there any chance that replacing the current disposal with a compact model would make a difference by raising the level of the disposal? This came up during a kitchen remodeling.
