Rated 5 out of 5 by Opto from Love the magnetic switch This is the third Insinkerator that I have purchased in the last 34 years. The last one went after about 10 or more years due to the switch. I hope that the magnetic switch will make this one the last that I need for this house. It was easy to replace the broken one since the mountings are the same. Also, this one is very quiet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by betterlate111 from High Quality Dependable Mounting was easy since we replaced another Insinkerator. Cover control works great since the wall switch is too far for us. The only change we had to make was to refit the plumbing for the lower discharge height. I would recommend any Insinkerator product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Eliza16 from Silent but not very efficient Our plumber found the Evolution Cover Control Plus easy to install. It is more bulky than the Insinkerator 17 that it replaces and takes more room in the cabinet. It is much less noisy than the old model but also less efficient. It takes longer and therefore more water to dispose of the same amount of food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BatchFeed from Wife is pleased with new disposal unit! Very easy to install as a replacement for an older, worn out, batch feed unit. Much quieter than unit which was replaced. Happy with the purchase!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pdigi from First batch type I have had incinerator before and think the product is a good one, but not sure I am a batch person. Getting used to the stopper and how to fit for use has been a bit of a challenge. The unit is solid, I did use a plumber for install and had one issue, but I do not think it was the product, just some of the issues under my sink. The motor is strong and quiet, so would recommend, but if you are not used to a batch, it is a bit of a learning curve.

Does liquid pass through (newbie question)
Wondering if the chamber fills up with liquid (like, water) and device must be run to empty chamber, or if water and other liquids just pass through down the drain as they would in a normal drain.
I have the same issue. I finally took the thing out of the drain and lay it sideways. Ony way it will drain. I read the directiosn over and over and it says how to turn it to allow water to flow, but it done'st work for me. Water fills up in my sink.

My insinkerator will not turn off? I had to turn the breaker off and when I turn the breaker back on, the disposal runs. The stopper is not in.
My wife could not get to run with magnetic stopper in, she hit the reset button underneath and still nothing. She quit trying and walked away, scary thing is than it all of a sudden started to run. Only way to stop it was turn off breaker. We just bought our house 2 months ago but not sure how old unit is.
My old (12+ years) batch feed Insinkerator had a similar problem. I tried buying a replacement cover control, thinking that the magnetic connection had deteriorated, but the replacement cover didn't work either. Ended up buying a full new disposer. The new unit is quiet and works great.

sure--you can even run it through the car wash.

my brand new machine is not working
I have pushed the reset button, and flipped the fuse in the basement. It makes a low noise, so I know it is plugged in, but it does not drain or grind. How else can I reset it?
obviously jammed. use the wrench to free the unit and then try again.

Need a new magnetic coverstart switch.
The black cover over the magnetics have broken/worn away and the device is VERY difficult to turn. The unit is approx 5 years old. Where can I purchase a new one?
I bought mine at Lowe's. You maybe able to order from Lowe's website as well.
