Evolution Cover Control Plus Garbage Disposer-Without Cord is rated out of 5 by 503.
Rated 2 out of 5 by prfrog10 from Weak performance (but easy installation) I replaced my 16-year-old Insinkerator model 17-85: it would still grind well, but the cover switch stopped turning off properly. It was very easy to install this new model myself using the existing plumbing and sink bracket from the old unit, and the magnetic cover switch will probably last longer. The new unit is also much better soundproofed. But the grinding is just not as good as the old unit. Lemon/lime rinds, or broccoli stems, take 5 to 10 times longer to grind, and even then there is often some left. I've tried reducing the water flow during grinding, which I think helps a little, but overall it is pretty frustrating to dispose of food scraps that used to be easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2tired from Had a batch feed disposal prior and liked it. This new one exceeds my previous one. Am very pleased. Ease of installation for the installer, ease of use for me, real quiet and more than does the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DoItUrselferer from Great Upgrade Our home had an older InSinkErator when we bought it 20 years ago. When it finally failed, I bought an Evolution model. Installation was super easy with the Twist-on mount. Processes waste well and is amazingly quiet. Have to listen carefully to hear it at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by island from This product is an outstanding replacement to an earlier model. The Evolution Cover Control Plus disposer is an outstanding product. It runs so quietly and with great efficiency! A welcomed replacement to the original model installed when house was constructed 11 years ago.

Does liquid pass through (newbie question)
Wondering if the chamber fills up with liquid (like, water) and device must be run to empty chamber, or if water and other liquids just pass through down the drain as they would in a normal drain.
I have the same issue. I finally took the thing out of the drain and lay it sideways. Ony way it will drain. I read the directiosn over and over and it says how to turn it to allow water to flow, but it done'st work for me. Water fills up in my sink.

My insinkerator will not turn off? I had to turn the breaker off and when I turn the breaker back on, the disposal runs. The stopper is not in.
My wife could not get to run with magnetic stopper in, she hit the reset button underneath and still nothing. She quit trying and walked away, scary thing is than it all of a sudden started to run. Only way to stop it was turn off breaker. We just bought our house 2 months ago but not sure how old unit is.
My old (12+ years) batch feed Insinkerator had a similar problem. I tried buying a replacement cover control, thinking that the magnetic connection had deteriorated, but the replacement cover didn't work either. Ended up buying a full new disposer. The new unit is quiet and works great.

my brand new machine is not working
I have pushed the reset button, and flipped the fuse in the basement. It makes a low noise, so I know it is plugged in, but it does not drain or grind. How else can I reset it?
obviously jammed. use the wrench to free the unit and then try again.

Need a new magnetic coverstart switch.
The black cover over the magnetics have broken/worn away and the device is VERY difficult to turn. The unit is approx 5 years old. Where can I purchase a new one?
I bought mine at Lowe's. You maybe able to order from Lowe's website as well.
