Evolution Cover Control Plus Garbage Disposer-Without Cord is rated out of 5 by 540.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Timm from I like the product but it does need more time to evacuate food than the old unit did. Much quieter though Very good build quality. A little slow at removing debris

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gremlin from This product is quieter than our last one. This product has 2 speeds and takes a little longer than our last one. It has a safety feature that I've never seen before.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BandZ from Noisy! It works, grinds the garbage as our old one did. That's the good news... We hoped this new machine would be really quiet. It's not, even empty. When there's company, the noise is annoying. The new cover is much heavier than the old one. We don't feel that it clicks into position so far, to know when it's ready to grind. At that point, we turn on a wall switch. We want the cover only as a second switch, for added safety. Had to have a plumber install it, adding 50% more to the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wisconigal from Easy replacement installation The included instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Along with watching a couple how-to videos, I was able to install the unit as a replacement for our 20 year old insinkerator. This new model is very quiet and efficient. It does a great job of processing those food items not being composted. I do recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MickF from Easy Installation and Quiet Operation I'm very pleased with how easily this installed. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because after inserting the drain sink flange and tightening the backup flange the plumbers putty oozes out and can be difficult to remove the excess. I think the directions to apply 1/2" rope of plumbers putty is excessive. I'm sure a 1/4" rope would have been sufficient, though there likely would still be some that oozes out after tightening the backup flange. Not a big deal, but be prepared to remove the excess before attaching the disposal if you want a clean install. Otherwise, 5 stars on everything else. Unlike the older models, this one uses a clamp to attach the discharge tube than a gasket with screws. That helps speed up installation a bit.

Does liquid pass through (newbie question)
Wondering if the chamber fills up with liquid (like, water) and device must be run to empty chamber, or if water and other liquids just pass through down the drain as they would in a normal drain.
I have the same issue. I finally took the thing out of the drain and lay it sideways. Ony way it will drain. I read the directiosn over and over and it says how to turn it to allow water to flow, but it done'st work for me. Water fills up in my sink.

My insinkerator will not turn off? I had to turn the breaker off and when I turn the breaker back on, the disposal runs. The stopper is not in.
My wife could not get to run with magnetic stopper in, she hit the reset button underneath and still nothing. She quit trying and walked away, scary thing is than it all of a sudden started to run. Only way to stop it was turn off breaker. We just bought our house 2 months ago but not sure how old unit is.
My old (12+ years) batch feed Insinkerator had a similar problem. I tried buying a replacement cover control, thinking that the magnetic connection had deteriorated, but the replacement cover didn't work either. Ended up buying a full new disposer. The new unit is quiet and works great.

my brand new machine is not working
I have pushed the reset button, and flipped the fuse in the basement. It makes a low noise, so I know it is plugged in, but it does not drain or grind. How else can I reset it?
obviously jammed. use the wrench to free the unit and then try again.

Need a new magnetic coverstart switch.
The black cover over the magnetics have broken/worn away and the device is VERY difficult to turn. The unit is approx 5 years old. Where can I purchase a new one?
I bought mine at Lowe's. You maybe able to order from Lowe's website as well.
