Evolution Cover Control Plus Garbage Disposer-Without Cord is rated out of 5 by 466.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bill64 from Excellent Unit I bought this to replace a 15 year old unit which had finally died. One of the issues with my old unit was the drain switch getting clogged and no longer working. I was really pleased to see the new magnetic drain switch design in this new unit which will never get clogged and stop working. I'm looking forward to many years with this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mary106 from I really like this product Product needed two people to install. The unit is very heavy for one person to hold up while turning the disposal to attach it to the sink area while lying down underneath the sink with your arms up. Once in place, though, the disposal is sturdy, works well and is very safe because the motor will not start unless the cover is on. After using the disposal for a month, it is still difficult for me to find the position for the cover to be in when I want the water to drain through without running the disposal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MikeAndy from Good product however it will be nice to be able to have replacement parts I bought a unit on March 27 and installed it in the following week. However I had to uninstalled it to fix something under the sink. Unfortunatly for me I put the unit on the counter top and the unit felt on the floor breaking the Trim shell cap (Part #73697). I search on your internet site where I could find replacement parts and phone your Customer service to find out that this part is discontinued. I had to buy another one to replace the unit. For the price of this unit replacement parts should be available esspecialy since this unit is still available in plumber shop. I am very disppointed about this situation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kram from It is sooo good! Easy to install, it grinds everything. We got the batch model for safety. Nothing can go down without the magnetic stopper switch in place - no little hands and no rings, flatware, etc. It has a large batch capacity and above all, even when grinding bones, it is amazingly quiet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 4Bob from Experience of a regular, long time user I've been using an InSinkErator garbage disposal unit for many years.A Recently my old one was losing its "cutting edge" and having difficulty "digesting" fibrous food waste, such as the end fibers from banana peels. My plumber ran various tests on the old unit and agreed that it was time to replace it with another 3/4 hp unit. This was done and it has been operating most efficiently for about a month since it was installed. I'm quite happy that it was replaced, as I use it daily to dispose of banana peels, orange peels, coffee grounds (including the wet filter paper from the coffee pot), occasional tomato peels and sundry other food waste products. I remain cautious about feeding onion peels into it, however, based upon past experience with previous units. Also I don't generally throw in bones, preferring to wrap these separately and place them in a secured bag for trash disposal. I always run water directly into the top of the disposal unit, while it is grinding up the food waste that I've given it. Frankly, this new unit is working like a charm! Based upon past experience, I can attest that the regular use of a waste disposal unit, such as the InSinkErator further improves the quality of one's life by keeping ants and flies from invading the kitchen premises from the out doors. For these reasons, I recommend its regular use wherever possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by powerguy1 from The best there is Bought this disposer to replace our 14-year-old Insinkerator Model 17 in which the motor had failed. The new one was easy to install since the existing sink mount and plumbing connections could be re-used without modification. The new one makes virtually no noise at all. We always choose the batch feed (cover control) model because it is inherently safer. I called the Insinkerator customer service and they offered the new one for 50% off including shipping since we were a long time customer. (This would be our third Insinkerator). A super generous deal for sure and a few days later it arrived at our door. I like the new magnetic switch. The older ones had a mechanical button switch activated by turning the drain, and I had to replace these switches twice. Not an issue with the new one. I bought the cord option and installed an outlet for it to meet the latest electric code which requires a plumber to be able to disconnect the disposer himself. Strongly recommended!

Does liquid pass through (newbie question)
Wondering if the chamber fills up with liquid (like, water) and device must be run to empty chamber, or if water and other liquids just pass through down the drain as they would in a normal drain.
I have the same issue. I finally took the thing out of the drain and lay it sideways. Ony way it will drain. I read the directiosn over and over and it says how to turn it to allow water to flow, but it done'st work for me. Water fills up in my sink.

My insinkerator will not turn off? I had to turn the breaker off and when I turn the breaker back on, the disposal runs. The stopper is not in.
My wife could not get to run with magnetic stopper in, she hit the reset button underneath and still nothing. She quit trying and walked away, scary thing is than it all of a sudden started to run. Only way to stop it was turn off breaker. We just bought our house 2 months ago but not sure how old unit is.
My old (12+ years) batch feed Insinkerator had a similar problem. I tried buying a replacement cover control, thinking that the magnetic connection had deteriorated, but the replacement cover didn't work either. Ended up buying a full new disposer. The new unit is quiet and works great.

my brand new machine is not working
I have pushed the reset button, and flipped the fuse in the basement. It makes a low noise, so I know it is plugged in, but it does not drain or grind. How else can I reset it?
obviously jammed. use the wrench to free the unit and then try again.

Need a new magnetic coverstart switch.
The black cover over the magnetics have broken/worn away and the device is VERY difficult to turn. The unit is approx 5 years old. Where can I purchase a new one?
I bought mine at Lowe's. You maybe able to order from Lowe's website as well.
