Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product great price I had an insinkerstor disposal that quit after 15 years. I went online, found a phone number, spoke with a customer service person who told me if I bought a new Insinkerator she offered me a 50% discount. I bought one of the top models because with a 50% discount I could afford the best. It is installed, is very quiet and I am very pleased with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall, the disposal is a good product, aside from the magnet switch problem The installation was easy and straight forward. The disposal is quiet and efficient. The only issue is using the magnetic start switch. It can be difficult to get the alignment perfect so the disposal will start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from top of the line "batch" garbage disposal The unit is quiet and quality. The only comment to Incinerator is the plunger design. The old garbage disposal had a plunger that pushed down engaging a button to activate the disposal. It was very satisfying in that it was firm. If you wanted then there was a cut away on the plunger that missed the button and then acted like a plug to seal the sink for washing. The magnet design on the plunger on Insinkerator is loose and wobbly, presumably so water can still seep into the garbage disposal. If you plunge it deep then it plugs the sink. If you plunge it half way then twist, it activates the garbage disposal but it is wobbly. SR

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We bought the batch disposer and it works perfectly We did have a Kitchen Aid batch disposer but the switch broke twice. This time we went to SinkErator. The switch design has improved. It is super quiet. We did have our plumber install it. He said we bought the best garbage disposer on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect replacement product In less then hour, I had replaced our old Insinkerator L-15 with a new Evolution cover control Plus. No change had to be done in my plumbing and electric installation. New product is just amazingly quiet. We were under the impression that our new product was broken! No, it's not broken, it's amazingly quiet! Really really really nice product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Safe and easy to use I LOVE my Insinkerator! No need for food waste green bins stinking up the house, or filling the garage with maggots. No need to keep food waste in my freezer until pick up day. My freezer is for food I want to eat, not throw out! So easy to install, and use. The safety stopper ensures no one will get hurt, and I don't need to install an on/off switch. Some items (ie onion skins) are harder to break down, but the suggestion of adding a handful of ice cubes is simple and easy. Did I say I LOVE this appliance? Because I really do!!

Does liquid pass through (newbie question)

Wondering if the chamber fills up with liquid (like, water) and device must be run to empty chamber, or if water and other liquids just pass through down the drain as they would in a normal drain.
Asked by: KipVT
I have the same issue. I finally took the thing out of the drain and lay it sideways. Ony way it will drain. I read the directiosn over and over and it says how to turn it to allow water to flow, but it done'st work for me. Water fills up in my sink.

My insinkerator will not turn off? I had to turn the breaker off and when I turn the breaker back on, the disposal runs. The stopper is not in.

My wife could not get to run with magnetic stopper in, she hit the reset button underneath and still nothing. She quit trying and walked away, scary thing is than it all of a sudden started to run. Only way to stop it was turn off breaker. We just bought our house 2 months ago but not sure how old unit is.
Asked by: KenD
My old (12+ years) batch feed Insinkerator had a similar problem. I tried buying a replacement cover control, thinking that the magnetic connection had deteriorated, but the replacement cover didn't work either. Ended up buying a full new disposer. The new unit is quiet and works great.

my brand new machine is not working

I have pushed the reset button, and flipped the fuse in the basement. It makes a low noise, so I know it is plugged in, but it does not drain or grind. How else can I reset it?
Asked by: jojojo
obviously jammed. use the wrench to free the unit and then try again.

Why can't I use a three prong plug and plug it into a wall outlet on the cover control model

Asked by: Gene5197
You probably could depending on water and electrical code for the area in which you live. If outlets are allowed under the sink and you wire the unit correctly, proceed with caution. I am not an electrician nor a plumber.
